| Congestion is actually caused by reducing road space and creating pinch points on major roads. Go and look at the traffic crawling down Windmill Road this evening. Hounslow has done a good job of reducing road space and creating pinch points, aided by ongoing road works. Private car ownership in London has barely risen in 15 years (according to TfL) despite the population increasing massively in that period. Increased delivery and private hire journeys are what’s constituting most traffic now. That and people travelling for work, which still happens despite what the ‘work from home’ jockeys would have you think. But unless you can ask every driver if every vehicle what the purpose and duration of their journey is then all assumptions you make arebjust this, assumptions. Guesses. Supposition. Prejudice. Oh, and as of today it’s still not illegal to own and drive a motor vehicle in London or anywhere else in the country. Just because it offends your twisted moral code doesn’t mean those people driving legally are doing anything wrong. |
