| Most events are ‘policed’ by stewards now, which means genuinely bad behaviour goes largely unchecked. It’s the norm at football matches, and there’s been a rise in what used to be called hooliganism in recent years. Ironically it’s people with decent incomes who usually cause the trouble. They are the ones who can a) afford tickets and b) afford the alcohol. Many have respectable jobs. |
