I think that is part of the issue. Interminable amounts of documents full of planning speak and ultimately to most, akin to watching paint dry.  But weaved in are the odd detail here or there. I think this is a deliberate means to an end and applicants know the limitations of staffing with professional experience and seniority to spot such things. They also seem to know the limitations of elected representatives, after all, they are no more expert on detail and the ins and outs of specifications than most of us. They have to rely heavily on what is uncovered and relayed to them. And they still end up with a mass of data to wade through. Sadly I think that all too often ommissions are made and pertinent questions not asked, simply because the interest may not be there or not understood. One of the reasons that the idea of a planning committee for either end of this diverse borough with more local based councillors and chaired by a non voting councillor from the opposite end of the borough should be a much more satisfactory balance with at least people with an idea of the district and it's community and needs, and residents better represented in such process.
