Johns & Co was set up by John Morley, the former head of international sales at Ballymore. Remember that old joke from the 1970s - 'When you see a Milhous, you'll always find a Watergate'? Well, this is similar... where you find a Ballymore development, you'll find a Johns & Co. As well as Brentford, they also have offices in Canary Wharf, New Providence Wharf, London City Island, Royal Wharf, Nine Elms, Wapping and West Hampstead - all of which are Ballymore development sites. While they will sell to individuals, their main interest lies in attracting foreign investors, hence their offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. There is massive Chinese and east Asian investment in UK property. Ballymore also has very strong business links with Malaysian property developers EcoWorld - responsible for the development around the new football stadium. EcoWorld is also the main sponsor of Brentford FC. Ballymore's community liaison efforts are merely lip service. They are not interested in building Brentford, or encouraging the growth of any sort of community. They are interested in selling units, and don't care if they are occupied or not - which goes some way to explaining the lack of infrastructure development surrounding the Brentford build.
