| Mental is not a nice question. Address the views rather than make a 1970s school comment, Please. Look closely and the best run council, plays down party politics in it's conduct although it is still party dominated. But it focuses on core services and does not fritter money away on idealistic schemes. It's services are well run by the staff and management and stuff gets done. Easier to contact and deal with and yet cheaper. Staff turnover is low so there must be a degree of job satisfaction. Most I know working in institutions like councils feel as though they are banging their heads against a brick wall, have to watch their step and a culture of psychological bullying from executive level and a dislike of people who have energy enthusiasm and skill who are sidelines for fear of showing up their inept seniors. Not unlike Government or some places I worked in years ago. A British disease? |
