Sadly Online is an obsession by those gullible enough to fall for the trend without understanding what they are buying into. When it takes 10 mins or more or worse still not at all able to pay for parking either by phone ( which keeps telling you to use the app when there is no internet access or barely a phone signal ) is one example. But why is it that the most basic of businesses can have a website that interfaces with even the oldest of computers, is simple and easy to use, has a means of communication if a problem does occur and easy payment methods be achieved but local authority sites ( and not just Hounslows) range from dire to totally useless. Incompatible, complicated, limited, and user unfriendly. And yet the systems they use cost extortionate amounts of money. Reflective of many other aspects of costly wastes of time like the many 'consultancies' they engage who barely tell the difference between a High street and a Country lane. |
