I have never been in favour of industrial action to be honest, that is until now. Although action will do nothing to save brentford delivery office it is long overdue to send a very clear message to the current RM management about the wholesale dismantling of this vital public service. Hot on the heels of the PO Counters debacle where, proven to be defective and hackable, software was used to 'prove' non-existent fraud by sub-postmasters comes the obscene 'performance' bonuses being paid to the RM board to rationalise the service by making it far less customer- focussed and reducing the services offered. The Universal Service Obligation is under threat. If industrial action serves to highlight this as well then Martin I wish you and your fellow front-line posties good luck. |
