I tend to object to this charge too - this is too far out of London, and is unanimously opposed by the employers. Staff currently driving in almost certainly rely on their cars to conduct awkward journeys from outer suburban areas or Surrey towns from which the journey would be twice as long by public transport. Taxing them in this way just makes the jobs less attractive or more expensive for the employer if they pay. Cue relocation to a more business friendly area, as Robert suggests. Somewhere as close as Sunbury offers streets free of CPZs. We've already seen the loss of jobs in the Syon / Isleworth area caused by the closure of Syon Park Garden Centre without encouraging any more.
