| I have been told that my neighbours have been informed that the work to the sheltered unit will not not be complete until next Autumn/Winter. The story now is that the whole building has to be re-wired, now, I'm no builder, but it seems to me if you are doing any sort of conversion/refurb. work, especially to do with Fire and Building Regs. that might actually be a fundamental part of this sort of works. On top of that - and this I do find this reprehensible - they have been asked if they have considered a move to Milton Keynes! I have queried this with the Glorious Leader and the cabinet member for housing - it absolutely beggars belief that a council could make such a pig's ear of assisting elderly residents to downsize, especially when they approached them in the first place. I await a response. |
