| The fly tipping, as mentioned earlier, is indeed getting worse. In York Road, both ends but mainly by the corner with Windmill Road, we have regular piles of unwanted items including mattresses, ironing boards and furniture dumped underneath a poster that says it is an offence to fly tip!! Whilst the council do send a van to collect this stuff, it is outrageous that a few selfish people use this service as their own personal recycling service. The council are keen to brag that they are imposing fines on offenders so why haven't they responded to the numerous complaints about this and try to find the culprits. We had a CCTV camera a few years back and the tipping stopped. We currrently have some wooden furniture adorning the payement which somebody has written some rather rude (but not entirely inappropriate language) on. |
