Some blame can be given to Hounslow council for the mass overdevelopment of the area and the closure of Church Street, but blame also needs to be apportioned to those people using the area has a cut-through, many of whom behave in a very selfish manor. People from Hounslow and other areas further out drive to Isleworth as it is in Zone 4 so a cheaper train journey, but whilst they save money on a cheaper train journey won’t pay £3 for the station car park, which is at least 50% empty most of the time.  People also drive to, rather than walk, to the local shops.  Many of these park taking up more than one space, presumably worried that they may get boxed in. Many of the new flats being built into the area have limited residents parking where people have to pay extra for a parking space.  Again rather than pay for what they use people use the roads between Linkfield and St Johns Road for free parking rather than pay for what they use.  This will get worse when the London Square development opens plus the new hotel. Many of the drivers using these roads as a cut-through are very selfish.  Yesterday I saw someone who had had to park in the middle of the street at the end of Castle Road to unload his car (as many of my neighbours and I often have to do as there is no parking left near our homes).  Another driver drove round the corner and stopped head to head with his car even though it was quite obvious that he was unloading.  When he was unloading a parking space became free immediately behind the car that had stopped, but the driver of the second car gave him a load of abuse for slowing her down and refused to move backwards into the parking space that had become free behind her, so he then had to reverse all the way up to Nottingham Road (with other cars getting stuck as well). In the summer I was nearly hit by a car speeding down Loring Road by a driver that skidded part me.  That was a heart in the mouth moment! Whilst I do not like the idea of paying to pay down my own road, for the sake of £80 a year I will support the CPZ as trying to park is now getting ridiculous and with the new development it will only get worse.  Voting against it will not stop any new developments and station users will still treat the area as free parking so it is the only option to try to park near your house. I am not sure of any of the options for controlling the cars in Linkfield Road, but option three (the closure) will just push traffic down Grainger Road and other nearby streets.
