After the closure of Church street and the huge jams on the main road, the drivers will have been trying all the possible cut throughs to find routes which flow or shorten the journey time. Because of this there will have been a big increase in the cars trying Linkfield and discovering that Linkfield road would not be an option to use and causing aggrevation while doing so. I never try to go along Linkfield road because the parked cars with no built in gaps which mean you are bound to have to reverse for an oncoming car. Loring road, Castle road and Nottingham road however are great routes through to St Johns and have been discovered by the cut through drivers and are now more dangerous for the people living there. If we went back to the beginning and thought about it, the last road you would close would be Church street. I think leaving Linkfield would be another sensible option. I personally think that the Council is far too involved in these matters and that unless there are safety reasons for intervening all car drivers and people buying houses should just get on with what is there. |
