True Keith, and whilst I'm not usually backwards in coming forwards, unless the same individual did that on a constant basis I wouldn't be that keen on removing the obstructions and risking a confrontation. In the same way whilst as I posted earlier I get irritated by cars parking on a front hardsurfacing without a dropped kerb, I would only block that car in (i.e. by parking infront of the hardsurfacing) as an absolute last resort (i.e. if there was nowhere in the vicinity to park) because I'd be concerned that I'd come back to my car having been damaged etc. and no way of proving who did it. Generally, if people are willing to place obstructions in the road and such like, I suspect they aren't going to react 'well' when challenged by Joe Bloggs, and I'd rather live to fight another day. My pet hate is people urinating in the corners of the underground car park ramp opposite where I live, in full view of the living rooms and bedrooms of 10-20 flats. Everytime I see it happening the culprit gets a strong/firm verbal onslaught from me (without using abusive language) from the relative safety of my second floor balcony. The response I get is usually either OTT grovelling apologies or a vitriol of four letter words and physical threats, and suffice to say I never take up their suggestion that I should "come downstairs" so they can "sort me out" ! - and I've little doubt if you or I were seen removing obstructions placed by idiots then we'd be met with a similar outburst/physical challenge but without the safety of them not being able to reach us. |
