I know CCF will pick this up at some point - any chance of a further word with TfL regarding the traffic light sequencing at both Busch Corner junction and also the Mogden Lane/Twickenham Road junction. At Mogden Lane/Twickenham Road, the sequence for drivers heading northbound towards Isleworth from the A316 simply isn't long enough. There's a absurdly (given the relatively light amount of vehicles doing so) long period for drivers heading southwards to turn right using the filter, but northbound the sequence is absurdly short and increasingly traffic is queuing back towards the A316. This particularly hasn't been helped by the recent opening of TK Maxx on the retail park. Very easily resolved, simply shorten the time allocated to the right filter heading south and restore that time to the northbound traffic. As for Busch Corner, the right filter from Twickenham Road onto London Road towards Brentford remains absurd. 3 times out of 4 sequences that right filter will last long enough to let 4 or 5 cars through. At rush hour with the bus lane along Twickenham Road in operation it is creating havoc. Drivers going straight on at the junction either end up complying the rules and then having to queue for ages in the right lane before rejoining the left lane when the bus lane ends. Any poor 267 driver regularly ends up blocking both lanes of traffic. Many drivers (myself included) have resorted to rat-running through Teasdale Gardens or Teasdale Avenue and then turning right onto London Road because it's much quicker. That junction approach from the south has been a farce ever since TfL changed the phasing last summer. Thanks, Adam |
