| The Wells & Youngs beers can't have been delivered much later than Monday, so it's possible they were in the cellar while Steve was there. The Winter Warmer is quite popular in the free trade, the Express had it on last week so it's quite likely Steve ordered that one. While I was in there, one of the other drinkers was enthusing to Rick, the new manager, about Twickenham Strong & Dark, and I got the impression he's keen to get in what he can if it'll sell. He said the foreign draught beers (Paulaner, Stiegl, etc) are staying - "Why change something that sells?" - the only changes he expects in the beer range are that Wellington Pubco is going to replace Fosters with Fosters Extra Cold (!) and put a John Smiths Smooth tap in (!!), though it seemed to me that he was sceptical about the likelihood of the latter selling. Shame about the bar billiards though. |
