| Biggest issue First, Brentford has seen and is seeing huge amounts of development and population growth without the infrastructure to support it. First I would look at what these developers are paying towards the strain they are creating on our services now and for many years to come and levy an appropriate charge for the right to develop here. I would look at how we can help ease the waiting lists for doctors at an area meeting the headmistress of the local girls school said she had many youngsters who would like to train as doctors but could not afford to train as the cost was £250.000 over five years. As Hounslow currently takes 13 million from parking fines whats wrong with us funding 20 students training each year at a cost of 5 million over 5 years. So after the first 5 years you have 20 doctors and each year after that you have 20. Of course they would have to agree to stay working in the borough for five years after qualifying as repayment for our funding and after that they free to go or stay. Ps: why not get the developers to pay as I am sure the Borough will say parking is ring fenced for highways |
