| Lambert produces no statistics to back up his arguments, save for pieces in the Guardian that are so biased they are almost unreadable. What were the accident statistics for, say, Whitestile Road, in the years preceding its closure? Come in, councillor, you have time to invite people for coffee, so spend some producing detailed figures to back up your claims. And where do those Whitestile residents go to get to South Ealing Road but avoiding the A4? Oh yes, along Ealing roads like Darwin and Carlyle. Perhaps they should pay a toll to use them. The problem with Lambert, Dunne and others is that they are paid up members of the LCC. Their egos are fed and they can’t countenance listening to the more persuasive voices beyond. Old Lambert might care to think about the judgment of the High Court earlier this year, which deemed the West Dulwich LTN to be unlawful and ordered its removal because the council there ignored residents and failed to consider the possibile impact of the scheme. A victory for common sense over dogma and doctrine. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckg4178plvdo |
