Well, that’s one opinion of the performance of local authorities! Parking schemes aren’t supposed to generate enormous profits for councils, euphemistically called a surplus. There’s case law on this from 2013, with schemes supposedly only supposed to cover the costs of running them. Of course all councils routinely ignore this. Instead we get punitive parking charges based on emissions. Far too easy a target. Perhaps Guy Lambert could provide the figures for Hounslow’s parking surplus for the past few years. |
