It was the Pfizer vaccine that was 3 hrs late being delivered to Chiswick H.C. That's the vaccine that has to be stored a very low temperatures in refrigerators. Does the Chiswick Town Hall have these facilities to store the vaccine in? Many patients would have been on their way to the C.HC yesterday so the ensuing chaos can well be imagined - all those confused and frail patients arriving and arriving and arriving with nowhere to go - although there was a large waiting area with chairs that would have been filled up with the first arrivals. I was phoned at midday and told my afternoon appointment had been moved to 5.20 - when I arrived, they had only got as far as treating those patients with 4pm appointment, luckily I was inside (via the lift) and able to sit and wait my turn for an hour. By 6pm a neighbour told me they'd got themselves sorted and were bringing people in from the ramp to wait inside. Wonderful volunteer docs and nurses and others giving up their day and evening to look after us. Not sure why the vaccine was delivered so late, let's hope that doesn't happen again. |
