| Adam - I wasn’t suggesting that it was the job of developers to ensure the provision of uninterrupted services during the process of development (although it’s a thought - and might engender better relations with residents). What I am saying is that we have a group of elected representatives - you know who you are - participating in the planning of our area and who haven’t turned a hair over the prospect of Brentford being left without anywhere for people to buy groceries and household goods. This includes families, the elderly and people who don’t drive. It is, frankly, beyond belief; thoughtlessness on an epic scale. It cannot be described as ‘planning’. We have been badly let down. I’m aware - as, I imagine, is everyone else - that you are no longer a London resident. I hope you’re enjoying your new home. Mass relocation, however, is not a solution to the crisis in Brentford. You didn’t like it here, many do. We’d just like a full-service supermarket (What? We already have one?) and less rampant overdevelopment, reeking of greed rather than any consideration as to what an area needs in order to thrive. |
