"As I've said before the principle is a sound one, the problem is the reliance upon users to be considerate etc., and sadly the reality is that there's great a proportion of inconsiderate users that leaves the bikes dumped anywhere." I agree Adam, there is a big problem with inconsiderate users. Same thing actually applies everywhere - not just inconsiderate use of mobikes, but also driving, parking, cycling, fly tipping,... It takes time and effort to get people think about others, especially when nobody really cares about it. As for the mobikes: 1. It seems to me some youngsters found a way to unlock and use them without payment: I regularly see them in the little square in front of the shop in Netley Road - just leisurely sitting on those bikes and making little circles. I was (and still am) hoping that price increase for those who fail to properly park mobikes will teach some people... but obviously not those who learnt how to unlock the bikes without paying. 2. I think the minimum people who care can do to somehow improve the situation - is to report bad parking back to mobike. That's what I regularly do. |
