No-one could argue with the problems caused by the constant government cuts, however,Guy bangs on about recycling, this from a council that have closed the local amenity site - Space Waye, to residents for five days a week. How on earth does that help recycling? I also really question the outsourcing of so many council functions which bring little or no benefit to residents, just try dealing with some of those companies - they have no loyalty or interest where Hounslow is concerned they are in it for the money. I cannot help but agree that many councillors do treat us with disdain and offer you the example - again - of the Church St. saga, where the report going to IBAF this week, states that after the consultation the majority of respondents are in favour of re-opening the road. Officer's recommendation is that the closure is made permanent to the detriment of the rest of the area, and they use some very dubious reasoning to justify that. Unless I missed something, democratically you listen and act on the view of the majority. If councillors fail to do that then I really hope they can explain to the satisfaction of the vocal majority why they haven't listened. Is there not one of them with the integrity and guts who will stand up and be counted? |
