That's nice to know but initially it sounded quite patronising, you are correct these people DO work incredibly hard for no reward, save that they are trying to make their various areas much better to live in for all of us. If only you and your colleagues took more notice of their intelligent and well thought through observations and comments, and used their criticisms to learn something. As it stands that's not how it comes across now, it is almost as though if an issue is taken up then some of the groups getting involved is the kiss of death to getting a resolution. The fact is like you we know our areas well, it behoves the council to use that knowledge to inform their decision making, not as currently, to blunder around upsetting as many people as it is humanly possible to do in the pursuit of sucking up to a vociferous minority. |
