| What it needs is action by the the average person in the street, similar to our grandfathers who were involved in the Jarrow march. This is going to sound racist, (but not intended) the multicultural society that has slowly been created from the late fifties, suites our government down to the ground. Because of the different cultures I doubt very much we would get the British people to stand up together and march in mass to Downing street to show the average British persons discontent at the way the country is run. Some say you can vote them out at the ballot box, only problem with that, is the average 18 to 25 year old, and I quote “knows nothing about politics” young people are leaving education not being equipped for making real decisions in the real world. If the local Authority want the trust of their residents, stop coming up with hair brained schemes to make money that just get every ones back up. If they would just man up and make a very unpopular decision to raise the council tax and then provide a decent service. With a higher council tax, we might find we can get though to the Civic Centre on the phone a lot easier, or our streets may look a lot cleaner and council tenants might be able to get a skilled tradesmen out to fix faults in their premises, so on and so on. Maybe then they may get some trust, but at the moment you just wait for the next hair brained scheme for them to rack in extra taxes. |
