Thanks for your kind words about the Age UK Hounslow charity shop in Brentford. This new store is an important addition to TW8. It gives local people the chance to recycle and, being run mainly by volunteers, also helps the local community with the many social benefits that volunteering helps create. All donations at Age UK Hounslow are greatly received. All stock received will be sorted for resale in the shop or resale to our collection partners. Occasionally, we receive broken or soiled items, unsuitable for resale. These have to be disposed of. The majority of the skip waste at Alexander House last year was accumulated in the building prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, we were tasked with clearing the entire building before we left. All stock suitable for resale was redistributed to our other charity shops in the borough. Any donations that went in the skip would have have followed the same sorting process as above. If you require any more information or would like to find out how you can support Age UK Hounslow, please feel free to post. |
