I'd always understood that the bulk of glass being recycled is crushed for use as aggregate - so the colours don't matter. The recycling plant up Transport Avenue has piles of 'greenish' crushed glass. I'd also understood its more expensive and uses more energy to use recycled glass for new glass than the usual method of glass production ... so chuck any colour into any bin. But then maybe my info is out of date... |
