Highgate Cemetery. That's a good recommendation. Have ofter read about it but never been. Thousands of graves etc. A trip on the Overground from Gunnersbury I presume. A bit errie? Close to me in Brentford is Carville Hall Park. I recall playing football on there (North Side) in the 1940s (!) against Lionel Road School..and hearing that the South side was the site of mass burials after the Great Fire of London... years and years ago. I don't think there is any signage mentioning that.. just Carvill Hall South Park. But Google describes it as Carville Hall Memorial Park. Bless their souls. |
