The great thing about living in Brentford.. especially with a Freedom Pass.. is that there are so many places we can visit easily if we are mobile. Younger members of my family came down to Brenford from the Outer Hebrides..via Ullapool,Inverness and the Caledonian Sleeper train to Euston. They stayed near the Holiday Inn, enjoyed the scene by the Lock and Canal, refreshments on the balcony at The Verdict.. then bus to Gunnersbury, train to Westminster.. and in half an hour we were sailing down the Thames to Greenwich (£18.50 return). Afterwards a nostalgic trip to Beauchamp Place..Piazzi Pomodoro full up).. so across the road to Cafe Concerto. Back to Hammersmith and the 267. So easy! PS: The London Eye looks splendid. Each capsule carries 25 people x 32 capsules. It makes a ton of money a day! |
