Sadly, and not with out a damned good try, that area of Ferry Quays remains as souls and uninviting as it did when it first opened.  Pappadums was excellent and brought a degree of footfall, but some of the others that opened discovered that even with great food, the access and footfall was just not there and then developed a reputation for ripping off customers.  It's been a hell of a challenge ever since. Repeated bad experiences and parking issues taint and soon blight opportunities.

It's also not very child friendly with a lot of sheer drops into the waterside and thus requiring constant parental supervision or kids that are reliably well behaved. Plus that market requires extra staffing in those envisions and again businesses are caught between a pillar and a post.

It's a shame but indicative of developments and the consequential property managements which price out any growing organic business and the utopian artists impressions which sell the dream are seldom ever matched.

I suspect the forthcoming overdensification led redevelopment of Charlton House and Albany Parade with severely limited parking and utopian tokenism will be busier but just as bad as it also fails to address real life for so many.
