| You can use the recycling centres in Ealing and Richmond Boroughs(though Townmead is compromised by recent fire). Also Harrow and Brent. though too far unless you're going that way for another reason. These rumours that you cannot use Townmead (in particular) crop up regularly but have never been true. Hounslow has reduced the price of the bulky waste service to £40 for up to 5 items. Making this free would cost plenty at a time when budgets are under severe strain from increased domestic waste (because of homeworking) and a severe shortage of HGV drivers. It would have very little impact on flytipping because the vast majority of that is not people who can't afford £40, but people who can't be bothered. |
