“[Amsterdam] is a much smaller and less densely populated city than London. “ Cllr Hearn again shows the same respect for factual accuracy as his dodgy, scaremongering leaflet about CW9 riddled with hyperbole and misleading information.. London population density 1,510 inhabitants per square km. Amsterdam population density 4,908 inhabitants per square km. Overall size isn’t relevant. It is hardly as if people in Bromley, Barking or Barnet would say “let’s pop down the shops in Chiswick High Rd”. Most journeys are less than 3 miles, a distance a bike is eminently suited for, unlike a 2 tonne metal box carrying one person and designed for speeds of 140 mph but barely exceeding 15 mph... |
