| Really it is always the authorities taking the line of least resistance. Do so agree that there is a disparity with picking on drivers for virtually having the temerity to drive on the roads but being a hell of a lot more lackadaisical when it comes to littering and fly tipping. And councils don't cover themselves in glory when they do such potty things - they make it harder for people to dispose of large items by upping the cost of clearance then wonder why tipping increases, not that that can justify it of course. What happened to the 'Tidy Town' service? Which enabled a couple of neighbours to get together and for a very reasonable sum you got 15 minutes loading time and then so much for every five minutes you took after that. Once council in Wales has decided to have monthly refuse collections with the result fly tipping has increased as has general rubbish all over the place - then they are surprised - what sort of morons thought that one up? It really cannot and doesn't save any money - I would be interested to hear how much gets saved by cutting collection frequency as opposed to clearing the resulting tipping it causes. |
