| Indeed so,Raymond. The authorities decided many years ago to routinely ignore 'low level crime', especially amongst the young.For instance,the average number of time a person (usually a youth) was spoken to by police before an ASBO was served on that person was 11,thus it became almost a badge of honour to see how long it would take to get one.Never mind that the local community had to put up with the anti-social and intimidating behaviour for however long. Ignoring low level crime is only storing up problems that will eventually have to be dealt with and it seems to be coming to a head with all the knife crime currently blighting the country.It's about time for a change and none of the parties that are supposed to be our representatives are worth a carrot when it comes to policies that prevent crime and uphold the law. They do seem to be able to punish motorists for minor offences as your name and address is on your number plate. |
