| There is a very vocal opposition to a third runway at Heathrow, but has anyone surveyed the views of locals to get their view - my understanding is that a considerable number of people living in Hounslow are broadly in favour of expansion due to the increase in jobs in the area. We're all flying more often, so expansion seems to be the only option - we can't have it both ways. Or should the airport be shifted to another part of the country so that it only affects other people? I like the fact that a major airport is within 30 minutes of where I live - if we want flights, then we need airports. The NIMBYs will always object. |
