Good, but would have been better if she'd mentioned the aircraft pollution that is depositing a constant waterfall of particulates and NOX onto us. I think the illegal level of pollution we have almost continuously now, the lack of any form of exhaust or particulate filters on jets and the constant deluge of these from burning fuel that is very similar to diesel are quite fundamental to stopping Heathrow's plans. Heathrow always says 'double glazing' as a solution to aircraft issues. Are they proposing to install particulate and NOX filters in a million homes as well? If Heathrow was the site of a dozen fossil fuel power stations it would have been forced to move a long time ago. A twin engine jet incidentally has the same power output as a power station (they use the same engines), and how many jets are in the air or taxiing around on the ground at any one time? My best guess is 30 or 40 of them. |
