"The wheels have been set in motion and a team is now exploring funding options."
Why? Whose initiative is this?

"Timber construction and landscaping minimise ecological impact and enhance the unique riverside landscape. The bridge should become a destination in its own right with its amazing views of the unspoilt Thames shoreline. Public facilities are proposed at both landings with a shop and pier in Brentford and a new entrance to Kew Gardens."

Based on the visualisations on the Brentford Bridge Facebook page, the bridge will achieve none of these aims and will certainly destroy the 'amazing views of the unspoilt Thames shoreline' for the people living near it.
