| You want action? Be a pain in the a*se, it is a sad fact but true that unless and until you become a right pest then you won't get anywhere. A group of us have bashed the ears of our local councillors over a local issue, and done a lot of digging on the council website for information to find out what has actually gone on when we have been faced with fudge, feebleness and sometimes lies. We are not going away until matters have been resolved, and I think that message has now penetrated, we shouldn't have had to go to these lengths. How is it that people who knock on our doors because they want to represent us,then seem to view us as some sort of enemy thereafter? I thought the general idea was to work together for the benefit of the area and the greater borough. Instead we often find we have a battle with paid officers and elected members whose views seem to take precedence over anything the local residents might suggest, never mind that people who live in an area are often the better informed, but hey! What do we know? |
