| I am an Enfield Road resident who voted no. I had that dread feeling that every time a 'consultation' letter appeared on my doorstep we were getting closer to a foregone conclusion. Yes, parking has gone a bit crazy in the area but a bit-part CPZ will have little effect whatsoever on the lack of parking spaces in the evening. I can rarely park on the street coming home after being out in the evening. There are just more residents & more cars around. I totally object to having to pay £60 a year to still not be able to park near my house in the evening and at weekends, on the off-chance I might have a day-off and need to leave my car at home. I also have no choice but to buy a residents permit to allow me to buy visitors passes (even more money to LBH) so that the grannies can continue to collect my children from school 3 afternoons a week. Yup - simply a car tax. Pay money & get no benefit in return. Grrrr..... |
