| Hi Simon Here is a few facts you might also find fascinating. When this CPZ consultation was carried out the Council called it an area consultation. This was their second attempt at getting this in as the majority said no. This time as an area we said no but certain streets had a majority in favour. Now when I went to school area meant perimeter or circumference and not the individual parts that make up the whole. However the council chose to ignore this fact and introduce the CPZ in the roads that said yes. This was after I might add they had distributed a letter giving false information saying that in the previous consultation the majority were in favour. I brought this to there attention and they did send out a letter retracting this false information but they did not remove the false information from their website. Now I am all favour of consultations but in order to make a decision you have to be given the correct information in the first place. In this case we were not. So its rather like an election in some tin pot dictatorship when if you don,t get the result you want you simply change the rules after the votes are in. For my part I have asked a local Councillor to refer this matter to the Local Authority Ombudsman |
