Jim, you are an absolute mine of information, so.....

Do you happen to know of anyone locally who a)casts brass or b)machines metals, like model engineering?
All the small shops have gone and I think it only survives in garden sheds now.

I'd love to trace some of this rare breed who did metalwork at school, I didn't unfortunately.
