I am hoping someone may be able to offer a bit of advice. My mum was adopted in 1944 and is trying to track down her records to see if there is any correspondence or information about her still held. We know she was born in Cambridge but adopted from London and taken to Northampton, but have no idea about such things as how her adoptive parents 'found' her, or where in London she was adopted from. I know it’s a long shot but if there is any info (adoption file!) out there she would like to know.
We don't know what agency was used or exactly where she was adopted from.
Any help would be gratefully received.
