The banners in the streets can be used to inform and there used to be informative posters outside the Fountain Leisure Centre.  I think it is important that residents are kept informed of the different responsibilities a Council has otherwise they will think that their Council Tax is only for bin emptying (and won't even know that that is contracted out).

The party political ping-pong is puerile.

How exactly do the people who moan so much about this way of communicating expect to be given information - telepathy?  It isn't enough to only look for the information when you want - the Council needs to keep you informed.  The magazine conveys general information much better than a letter would. When people are challenged over not reading pamphlets they so often say that things that come through the letterbox go straight into the recycling.  A shame - but then the Royal Mail do deliver a lot of junk mail nowadays - while the magazine is at least recognisable and unlikely to be confused with that.
