Manria Fair play, and all credit to Ann Keen for being prepared to stand up to her party on this issue. I have made my views on this subject clear in a debate on the ChiswickW4.com forum - the argument that Griffin is being allowed onto this programme so that others can discredit his arguments frankly doesn't wash, the format of the programme will not permit this to happen and the more likely outcome of this new fascist-friendly strategy, which the BBC would appear to be spearheading, is that people will start to view the BNP as just another mainstream party with a valid, if controversial political platform. I was present at a meeting of Hounslow-based Muslim groups yesterday and some of those present shared my view that the BNP is being given an easy ride to promote an anti-Islamic agenda with a view to shaping public opinion in favour of the government's aggressive foreign policy. It is noteworthy that the BNP's emphasis these days would appear to be on opposing Islam rather than on race per se, despite the fact that it clearly retains a racist agenda. I was not one of those to whom you sent a copy of your petition. I realise of course that you would probably prefer to believe I took a different view on this subject, nonetheless I would be very happy to sign it if you would direct me to one. |
