| Paul, I take your point but isn't it correct to say that many employees received formal notice that their jobs were at risk of redundancy, and were offered a voluntary redundancy package (so they walk away with a financial package that tides them over for a fair while during which they can look for another job) as an alternative to hanging around to see if their job got cut and then after a far shorter notice period they'd have no income and no job ?. |
