| "I sincerely hope they get some return on their 6 figure investment because it seems they were really struggling to attract punters after Church Street was made an LTN by Cllr Guy Lambert and his Labour Party cronies." Church Street (where the Apprentice is situated) residents were the main force behind the closure, but the actual consultation which was across the larger part of Isleworth voted overwhelmingly AGAINST. Councillors were told of this result but decided to ignore the wishes of the majority anyway, a decision that still rankles today! So this is a yes and no thing - you could say that members were responding to the people who lived in Church St. and their demands, or that they should have listened to the vast majority. So not entirely correct to blame one councillor. |
