Blighting of residential areas in London with the acceleration of front gardens being converted in to parking spaces and the negative impact on biodiversity and flood resilience. There are regulations about this and they also include not being allowed to just re-concrete as before - as hard surfaces need to be porous. https://www.planningportal.co.uk/permission/common-projects/paving-your-front-garden/planning-permission I saw one of those electronic advertising boards in Brent being used by their Council to point out that HMOs (Houses in Multiple Occupation) have to be registered with the Council. A brilliant use for them I thought as the more people who know about some of these regulations the better. |
