There have been some exceptional low tides on the Brentford Waterfront this week. One can see the levels in front of Lot's Ait reduced to puddles. I fancied my chances of reaching the riverbank by going down those steps at Smith Hill. Even the lower steps were caked in thick Thames mud and I had to retreat. My footwear was plastered. Returning home...I washed the solid Thames mud from the soles etc. The mud stank of sewage. One hears that the Thames does have a whiff sometimes. One would have thought modern technology would have sorted the problem. Successive local MPs have knocked on Thames Water's door. The boss gets paid a fortune. LET'S HAVE SOME ACTION! |
