Took my 95 mother to Thornbury road on Friday 15th for her vaccination. Appointment was for 10 o’clock arrived 9.50. Stood outside until 10.20 in cold. Entered small hallway where temperature was taken whilst people inside were pushing through to get out. Sat on group of 4 chairs approx. 18” apart whilst someone filled in short questionnaire. Great care was taken to inform that it was Pfizer vaccine and that you must make sure were called back for second injection to show them your card stating Pfizer. Taken to a row of 12 flimsy hessian walled booths which were just big enough for a chair. Six facing each other with a small aisle between. Next to this was a waiting are with about 10 well spaced chairs. Three vaccinators were working but because you had to wait 15 minutes in the waiting area they could only give an injection when a chair was free. We were booked in batches of 15 minutes and there were 5 in our batch so it looks like they were vaccinating 20 people an hour! The room used is a doctors surgery which was totally unsuited for the amount of people in it. Wheel chairs were a problem as they had to be manoeuvred past waiting people as there wasn’t enough room to go in the normal through route. The surgery was also being visited by other patients who needed to contact their doctors. Very grateful to the staff working under these conditions but I am stagggered to think that is the best venue that Hounslow can provide. |
