The Tories have never even managed to come second in Isleworth ward, and they quite demonstrably have no interest in the area.  In the old Isleworth South ward, which had similar boundaries, the last time they reached the lofty heights of runners-up was in 1990.

As regards the backstabbing, I don't think the new candidates are likely to have had any involvement other than by being available to replace her.  One well-known Labour activist (and prolific poster of Britain First and EDL material, but that doesn't seem to be the cause of any concern in the Isleworth ward party) told my wife this week that "Steve told us not to vote for Lynn because she is ill".

Assuming he is referring to Steve Curran, the leader of the Labour Group on the Council, this would seem to suggest that not actually being a member of the relevant ward party isn't an obstacle to involvement in its internal affairs.  It would also seem to undermine Guy's lame "nothing to do with me guv, I'm from Brentford" protestation on an earlier thread.
