I think the poster's comments about thoughtless customers in the likes of Primark etc. could equally apply to anywhere in the UK, rather than specifically to Hounslow. I never get the general logic that everywhere has to improve to compete with surrounding towns. Hounslow is never going to be a place shoppers flock to. It serves the needs of its immediate surroundings, but isn't a place that people from further afield would flock to, it's never going to compete with Kingston. I have the same views about Brentford, the town is never going to be somewhere that anyone other than locals go. Sticking up lots of garish, stupid "Brentford is Brilliant" signs is embarrassing and pathetic. Accept the status quo, don't make to make places something that they simply aren't meant to be. |
